Information

The Teatro Calderon was built between 1891 to 1897, and  is one of the most beautiful architectural jewels of the city. Its lobby is very wide, and the first floor contains a large room that is richly decorated with tapestries, oil lamps, and fine Venetian glass mirrors. The Main Hall is shaped like a horseshoe and is distributed among three tiers. The stage is finished with an allegory, as well as the portrait of the illustrious playwright Fernando Calderon, in whose honor the theater was given its name.
