Information

Since the city was built in a rugged area, small alleys exist that keep the essence of Xalapa of yesteryear. Most have various legends and stories that are already part of the popular culture of the city.

The most famous are the Callejón Jesús Te Ampare and Callejón Del Diamante or the Alley of Jesus Will Protect You and Of the Diamond.  The first is located near the church of San José and the second near the Parque Juarez. Paved, with a bohemian flair, in the alleys you can buy crafts and taste some exquisite dishes of Veracruz.

Other Callejones or Alleys in Xalapa:

Callejón de la Calavera or Skull Alley next to the Parque de los Berros, Callejón del Obispo or Bishop Alley on Fausto Vega Santander s / n, Callejón de los Negritos  on Othoniel Bazarte Rodriguez,  Callejón de Rojas or Red Alley between Enriquez and Revolution,  Callejón Tumbaburros on the 1st block of Clavijero,  and Callejón del Perro or Dog Alley on the street, Calle de Rojano.
