The Archives and Historical Library of Veracruz is a custodial institution which preserves and retrieves the documentary and literature heritage, classified as historical and contemporary from the city of Veracruz. It is formed with documentation created by the Secretaria del Ayuntamiento and is grouped in documents that belong to the seventeenth until nineteenth centuries as well as the Twentieth Century Fund. It also has permanent and temporary exhibitions of documents, books and newspapers.

The word Atarazanas comes from Arabic and means warehouse of artillery or arsenal. They began to build in the port of Veracruz in the early eighteenth century in order to "keep in them sticks of masts that they carry from Coatzacoalcos and also necessary for the preparation of the ships of Her Majesty that arrive dismast to Veracruz,"and later it worked as a warehouse of artillery. Since 1989, is a space dedicated to promote artistic development and creativity in children, youth and adults through education, relationship, workshops, courses, book presentations, exhibitions and concerts.

The Centro Veracruzano de las Artes was inaugurated on May 24, 2004 and has, among its objectives, the design, development and promotion of academic and artistic high quality programs and has the task of raising the quality of the of professionals practice in the fields of art.
This cultural center has two professional dance halls, three classrooms, a T.V. classroom and a cafeteria.

Faro Venustiano Carranza (Lighthouse ) Puerto de Veracruz, Malecón Col. Centro

The Venustiano Carranza Lighthouse from neoclassical style, is an architectural work planned and carried out in 1902 by two engineers: Salvador Echegaray and Lattine. It is part of the buildings that together with the construction of dams, seawalls and jetties, constitute the Port Works which were inaugurated on March 6, 1902 by the President Porfirio Diaz. The lighthouse is flanked by two bodies of two-story, its rectangular floor has a patio surrounded by semicircular arches. Nowadays the Lighthouse is occupied by the administrative offices of the La Armada de Mexico.

Fototeca de Veracruz (Photographic library of Veracruz ) Callejón Portal de Miranda 9, Col.Centro

It is located in the famous Miranda Portal and opened on November 27, 1998 as part of the National System of Photographic library of the National Institute of Anthropology and History. Its mission is to rescue, restore and preserve the historical and artistic photographic collections in Veracruz. At present, its photographic fund has more than 5000 pieces.
Its facilities include two galleries where they exhibit old photographs as well as contemporary works by famous artists. It offers guided tours, courses and workshops related to photography.
