Valle De Bravo Weather Current conditions as of 09/01/2009 45° FLow: 40° / High: 72°
Small city located at the edge of the Lake Avándaro... southeast of the city of Toluca and 76 kilometres from Mexico City. Valle de Bravo has cobblestone streets and houses with red pitched roofs, emphasizing the use of wood, adobe and brick, the white walls with “guardapolvos”, hallways and balconies; a place that during centuries served as scene of cultural transitions between the nahuatl, matlatzinca and purépecha towns, ing weekends.
Valle de Bravo as well as Valle de Bravo, contiguous urban development that is distinguished for its exclusivity, possess a great activity concerning real estate business since many families who own properties choose to rent or sell when unable to visit their houses during the weekends. It is a place that has been, since the 60’s, a resting spot for the privileged class of Mexico City, a beautiful refuge thanks to the wonderful forests surrounding the region, or thanks to the magnificent lake where water sports are practiced: certainly a heavenly place. According to the traditional community, diverse business activities are developed in Valle de Bravo, among them the production of glassy clay china, pottery in general, wooden handicrafts, embroidered wool fabrics, openwork, basketwork with ocochal and diverse leather works. Nevertheless, the tourism is clearly an essential activity that counts with a wide range of good quality hotels. There are plenty of restaurants where one may taste a fresh trout or vallesana cured meat, a typical dish of the region.
