The famous Avenue of the Dead (Calzada de los Muertos) is an avenue of more than 2 kilometers in length and 40 meters wide that stretches across the holy city of Teotihuacan.

Along its route, culminating at the Pyramid of the Moon, you can see different and small pyramidal structures that some researchers incorrectly designated as housing complexes for the ancient priests.

It is important to note that these structures are built upon other ancient pyramids and you can see that in ancient times the city was ravaged by fires.

Although they are not regularly open to the general public - a curious feature of the holy city that not many people know about - we recommend trying to visit the inside of these buildings to appreciate the greatness that once was an admirable pre-Hispanic city of the distant past.
