Information

The present building where the Museo del Virreinato is located, forms part of the old Camelitas Descalzos Convent, that was built in the second half of the 18th century, and was partially demolished when to Reform Laws went into effect. This Museum stands out among the San Luis scene, for the relevance of its exhibitions. The amplitude of the colonial art period makes a long historical journey from the fall of Tenochtitlan to the consummation of the Mexican Independence.

Outstanding for their interest, are the varying collections belonging to the religious themes, antiques, sacred art, portraits of the era, and a magnificent collection of wrought iron.
