The Angel de la Esperanza, a beautiful bronze piece by sculptor Hector Montes Garcia, was inaugurated on August 6, 2007 by Mayor Javier Bravo Carbajal. It replaced another sculpture of an angel carved in stone that had been demolished by Hurricane Kenna in 2002. Its plaque reads the following inscription:
Angel of Hope and Messenger of Peace
Always with the Hope of Welfare and Equality for All
Wisdom, Love and Above All Peace to All Mankind
