This small open air craft market, is located on the outskirts of the archaeological zone of Mitla, in the municipality of San Pablo Villa de Mitla. Much like the municipalities of Oaxaca de Juarez, El Tule, Tlacochahuaya, Teotitlán Valley and Tlacolula, Mitla enjoys a rich array of crafts. A large part of the local population are dedicated to the production and sale of:  traditional clothing made with a  pedal and shuttle loom,  embroidered hammocks, sarapes, rugs, ponchos, hand-woven cloths, a wide variety of necklaces and bracelets, necklaces made of natural materials, and carved stone figures.  The designs range from Zapotec codices and characters to reproductions of paintings by Tamayo, Toledo and Picasso. This area also produces coats, shawls, bags, belts, crafts from spun cotton, wool and yarn.
