In northwestern Mexico in the state of Tamaulipas, is the city of Nuevo Laredo, a border city with Laredo (Texas, USA). The cities are separated by the Rio Grande but are connected by four international bridges where 3,000 trailers cross daily making the land port of Nuevo Laredo the most important international trade route of America.

The Rio Grande is a long waterway of 3,034 kilometers that comes from the San Juan Mountains in southern Colorado in the Rocky Mountains.

The four international bridges that cross it linking Nuevo Laredo to the U.S. city of Laredo are the International Gateway to the Americas Bridge, International Juarez-Lincoln Bridge, International World Trade Bridge and a railroad bridge.

Tourist Attractions in Nuevo Laredo

Five "Lienzos Charros" where every year, between February and November, the city hosts of the traditional Charreadas which are similar to rodeo events.

Numerous monuments and buildings throughout the parks and plazas of the city such as the Cathedral del Espiritu Santa which is also the headquarters of the Diocese of Nuevo Laredo.

The "Reloj Público" (Public Clock) that sits atop a tower in the Art Nouveau style is 15 meters and is formed by three bodies in white quarry.

The Monument to Benito Juarez, a bronze sculpture of almost 3 meters in height that crowns a column of an 8 meter flagpole located in Morelos Archaeological Park. Its mast weighs 120 tons and measures 102 meters.

The Natural History Museum (Tamux) displays dinosaur skeletons and has a tour of the flora and fauna of the region from the Jurassic era to the present day. It also offers permanent exhibitions about the universe and the evolution of man and other temporary exhibitions.
