The magic of Michoacán!

The variety of tourist destinies that are presented to the visitor in Michoacán is so vast, that the visits suggested have been divided into different routes. From these, the most important are the Tourist Regions of Lázaro Cárdenas, Morelia, Pátzcuaro, Uruapan, Zamora and Zitácuaro. Michoacán has a surface of 58.585 square kilometers and is conformed by 113 municipalities. Its capital is the city of Morelia, founded as Valladolid in the XVI century by the Spanish. Its current name honors the great José María Morelos y Pavón, one of the main heroes of the independence of Mexico.
