Ballena Jorobada Sculpture Malecón, Centro Histórico de La Paz

This is a sculpture from artist Octavio Gonzalez who was born in Tepatitlan, Jalisco and when he was younger  he spends his time in making wooden toys. Now, his work has been exhibited in California and Europe as well as in Vallarta.

This marine mammal is an icon in Baja California Sur, many whales species live permanently in the seas of the peninsula  and others like the gray whale migrate to mate and to give birth in the wonderful sanctuaries.

Paraíso del Mar Sculpture Malecón

Another sculpture from Octavio Gonzalez. It is the vision of the artist, of the nature, fantasy, the wonders of the Sea of Cortez  between the legends and stories. Just as the La Paz people feel their land.

Caracoles Musicos Sculpture Callejon Ignacio Cabezud, Col. Centro, La Paz

This is another work from artist Guillermo Gome and it  frames the entrance to the historic centre of La Paz. This alley, Ignacio Cabezudo, is now the traditional place for artists and musical presentations. These symbolic marine musicians represent the traditional mix of art with nature easily noticeable in this city.

El Coyote Beach A 40 kms. aproximadamente de la Cd. de La Paz.

It is located just 40 km from La Paz and  is one of the best beaches for snorkeling and Kayak  because of its calm  and transparent waters. Here you can find diving equipment, kayaks and tours to the islands.  It has small seafood restaurants and some informal bars. El natural spectacle is wonderful and worth the trip. You can get there by taxi which can wait for you or return as you wish, rent a tour operator service  or rent a car.

El Viejo y el Mar Sculpture Malecón Centro Histórico, La Paz

El Viejo y el Mar sculpture was made by the artist Guillermo Gomez. This playful and beautiful piece reminds us the American writer E. Hemingway and his novel.  It represents the struggle of man through life and his ability to overcome obstacles and take up with the victory. This old man and his paper ship are a tribute to all men of the sea in the world.
