The so-called Costa Grande covers the area ranging from Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo to Acapulco.
This museum is in Zihuatanejo and has six rooms where they are exhibited pieces from various archaeological sites in the area and shows the development and the life of the people settled in Guerrero. There are also tools, pottery and weapons with influences from the Olmeca, Teotihuacana, Tarasca and Mexica cultures. The museum is located in a building dating from the first half of the twentieth century and opened in May, 1992 at Paseo del Pescador and Plaza Olof Palme in Zihuatanejo.
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 hrs.
This 8 kilometers track is divided into sections, the first one covers from the Marina Ixtapa to the Golf Club Marina Ixtapa, then, goes up and crosses the Aztlan Park which is a nature reserve of crocodiles, iguanas and birds and finish at Playa Linda. Opposite is another track which covers 3.8 kilometers and goes between Ixtapa, Paseo de los Viveros and Zihuatanejo ending at the Instituto Tecnologico de la Costa Grande. It measures about 3 meters wide and any runner, cycler, skater or just people who enjoy natural landscapes are welcome.
At the edge of Playa Linda there is a swamp with abundant vegetation that serves as home for a group of exotic animals: crocodiles. To stay in a place like this where crocodiles live in their natural space, brings a unique experience for families. There is nothing to fear, all are well protected and none of these reptiles of up to six metres long are dangerous.
From its soft sand you can see one of the typical stamps of Ixtapa: the islets of Los Morros.
It is the main beach in Ixtapa where it is most hotels. Between each hotel there are gardens to give a better look besides the guests can enjoy these spaces. There are also palapas with restaurant and bar service, sunbeds, rental boats service and the banana among other amusements.
And we do not forget the native who wants to sell you jewelry made with shells or the masseur offering their services. It is Ixtapa, here, everything can happen.
