Information

At the entrance of the Rio Copalita, is the beach of the same name where recently the "Bano Zapoteco"  (a black mud bath) has become popular. The Rio Copalita has three different sections of varying grades of difficulty for rafting. Germany section- class 4-5 rapids: This section of the river is characterized by spectacular and technical rapids created by the large slope and the whirling stretch of river. This section is an excellent option for those seeking adventure and serious contact with nature.
The rest of the descent of the river consists of the following stages: La Hamaca Section, class 3-4 rapids; and La Ceiba Section, class 1-2, perfect for families. These two sections begin on the bridge of La Hamaca and the second part is characterized by turbulent waters going down technical and exciting class 2,3, and 4 rapids with high waves. The third section is the quietest with Class 1 and 2  rapids and is ideal for family rafting.  It can also be done by canoe to reach the mouth of the Copalita, at the beach of the Bocana and the ocean, with the added benefit of being the ideal place for birdwatching.
