Information

The area of this plaza was formerly assigned to be a space for metal-working. It was later built as the Colonial Theater, which is known now as the Teatro Cervantes. This cultural center can accommodate up to 430 people.

In the Plaza Allende, next to the Teatro Cervantes, one can admire two statues that were placed during the 70’s while the Cervantino International Festival grew to an international scale.

One of the statures is of Don Quijote (Don Quixote), and the other of Sancho Panza, both depicted riding on their horses.

Today, this area is home to the Festival Titerias (Puppets Festival), and hosts numerous events during the International Cervantino Festival.
