Located at the bottom of a deep valley, expanding towards the hillside of the mountain, shines a city with an out of line aesthetic of outstanding imagination and beauty.

Guanajuato, with the Autonomous University and the wonderful Theatre Juárez, openned the doors for the first time in 1903 to the opera Aida Giuseppe Verdi. A city that served as stage for heroic battles where men thrusted by the spirit of patriotism offered their lives with courage: the fervour of the followers of Hidalgo arriving to the cobblestone streets, surrounded by the Spanish who took as headquarter the Alhóndiga de Granaditas and who before the bravery of Juan José de los Reyes Martínez, the Pípila, who carried on his back an enormous piece of rock in order to approach the entrance of the fortification and who set fire to the main door, were forced to give in. However, later on in the same Alhóndiga, would be hung the heads of the four insurgentes who inspired the armed revolt: Hidalgo, Allende, Aldama and Jiménez, a cause that would be crowned in 1821 and honored in mexican history for posterity.
