Tapatia Pearl, a city of beautiful women, culture, mariachi, tequila, charros and prosperity.

In Guadalajara there is a lot to do, to see, to know, to taste, to experience. Some say that is the  "most Mexican" city in the country, what means that in this place were born and retain some of the traditions that distinguish Mexico: The  mariachi, the tequila (originating in Tequila, Jalisco) and the charreria, considered the national sport. Its Historic Center was named Historical Heritage of Mankind by UNESCO and its modern part has infrastructure and services of high quality.

Guadalajara, capital of Jalisco, is the second largest city in Mexico. It is considered as "World-class city, Beta class" with seven points, reaching a level higher than cities like Amsterdam or Vancouver. It has also been host to very important international events as the first Cumbre Iberoamericana (1991), the Cumbre America Latina, the Caribe-Union Europea (2004), the Encuentro Internacional de Promotores y Gestores Culturales (2005) and  will take place the 2011 Pan American Games. It also took the title of Capital Americana de la Cultura in 2005 and Ciudad Educadora in 2006.
This place is located in what was known as the Valle de Atemajac (Nahuatl for "Place where water forks"), and then Nuño Beltran de Guzman, founder of the site, called it like his hometown in Spain.

The metropolitan area includes the municipalities of Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque and Tonala and it is 580 kilometers far from Mexico City.
There are several roads that communicate it with the rest of Mexico.
Guadalajara - Nogales, which goes towards the northern border and to Pacific ports.
Guadalajara - Colima - Manzanillo, communicates with southern Jalisco with Manzanillo, in the state of Colima through the capital city of this state.
Guadalajara - Morelia - Mexico, passing through the state capital of Michoacan to Mexico City, also passing through Toluca.
Guadalajara - Lagos de Moreno - Aguascalientes, connects with San Luis Potosi via Aguascalientes.

Of course Guadalajara has an international airport, "Miguel Hidalgo" which is located in the town of Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, 15 kilometers from the city. It offer flights to many of the most important cities in the country, as well as some of the United States and South America.
