Building of medieval style that rests on the remains of a place called Tlatlocayacalli which was used to deliver tributes to the chieftain Tlahuica by the ancient inhabitants of the empire of Cuauhnahuac. It was the dwelling of the Spanish conqueror Hernan Cortes and his family and its name comes from this. During the sixteenth century was converted into public precinct and later in the Real Carcel de Cuernavaca. At present, this precinct  serves as an interesting museum. In its 19 rooms presents an excellent collection of objects and pieces mostly of the general history of the state.

The State of Morelos is one of the states of Mexico more interesting in the field of tourism. Due to its proximity to the capital, is one of the states with more tourist influx on weekends or days off. A visit to the city of Cuernavaca, a tour of the archaeological sites of Tepoztlan or of Xochicalco or simply a picnic day at the Lagunas de Zempoala,  are  always a pleasant family stroll full of  culture, entertainment and amazement.
