Inside the Templo de San Felipe de Jesus,  stands out a golden baroque altarpiece with six niches and Solomonic columns carved in cedar wood. This church is also known as Beatario or Parroquia del Sagrario. It retains its original facade and was built in the 18th century. It is found next to the Plazuela Hidalgo and in front of the Pinacoteca Universitaria Alfonso Michel, in the first block of Colima’s downtown.
