An important part of the economic growth of this destination lies in the maquiladoras, or free trade companies, businesses, and the 17 industrial parks of the city.

Its location to the border, investment center, and the consular office has driven the growth of the hotel infrastructure towards a business aspect. Its attractions include shopping centers where it is possible to find national and international brands at affordable prices.

The city center includes buildings of cultural and historical significance such as the Mision de Guadalupe, the Ciudad Juárez Cathedral, and the Chamizal Archaeological Museum among others. The city also has its own International Center of Trade and Conventions. Just outside the city, the vastness of the desert leads to the Samalayuca dunes of white sand which have been a protected national area since 2009.

A place that is certainly not to be missed is the Paquimé archeological site; an UNESCO World Heritage located 280 kilometers from Ciudad Juarez.
