Pie de la Cuesta Beach is an excellent choice to get away from the constant hubbub of the bay. Going down the road toward Ixtapa is where you will find this beautiful beach which is well known here as having the "most beautiful sunsets." The waves here are perfect for surf lovers.  The Laguna de Coyuca, which is located to the side of Pie de la Cuesta Beach, is a wonderful day excusion by boat, and while there,  try the delicious "pescado a la talla" at some of its palapas (open air restaurants with  palm roofs) and enjoy sunbathing on a comfortable hammock. This small town is a good alternative for accommodations during the high seasons when Acapulco hotels are filled. It is just a short hour from the city.
